15 octombrie - Blog Action Day
|

Watching the sun...
|
.... jumping in the branches of the tree by my window, I realize how life on the roofs develops. I see roofs from my room, roofs most of the times wet with dew and populated by birds and insects. It's a different world up here, only the kids' shouts in the afternoon bring memories from the real world. The roofs are Dutch and I love looking through my open window far far away in the mornings,

Bruxelles - Economia Romaniei by FIC
|
Este vorba despre Economia Romaniei - Prezent si viitor: Provocari si oportunitati in drumul spre convergenta. Eveniment organizat de Foreign Investors’ Council. Se anunta cativa speakeri interesanti, printre care Prim-Ministrul Tariceanu, Richard Moat (CEO Orange), Dominic Bruynseel (CEO Erste Bank), Mariana Gheorghe (CEO Petrom), Joan Hoey (Senior Editor “The Economist”) si altii.
Postez impresii cat de curand!

Autumn styles in Rotterdam
|
I'm not talking fashion, but weather. Though I would definitely prefer the fashion way, shopping and trying out the newest collections. Nevertheless, we the CEMSies are now stuck studying for our first exams coming up in about a week from now.
So, back to the weather here in Rotterdam. There has been sun and warmth during the past few days, very warm, warmer than summer in Denmark even :)

Nieuwe Kerk Delft
|
I found the legend of the church on the main website. You can also read it below. The New Church of Delft is beautiful, situated in the City Hall Square, its high tower overlooking the city and announcing the time every half an hour in thrills. We went up in the tower, climbing some 360 steep steps which were even scary at time, but worth it in the end. The view from the top is magnificent,

De Oude Kerk in Delft
|
The Old Church is the oldest parish church in the city and was originally known as the St Hippolyte Church. The sagging tower of the Oude Kerk is no longer the highest in the city. Nevertheless, it is still as strikingly beautiful as it was during the Middle Ages. The solid presence of the church and tower reaffirms Delft's lasting position in history. If you look closely, the tower is actually

Day trip to Delft
|
Delft is the city of Delft Blue (pottery), the House of Orange and of Vermeer. I first found out about Delft when I was reading the "Girl with a pearl earring", last year in Copenhagen. Ever since I wanted to visit it. Yesterday we were walking around, going up the towers, having fish at the market and taking photos. We didn't get to do everything, but there's time to go back. Delft is only 10

Guvernul privat by Business Standard
|
Imi place foarte mult initiativa Business Standard. Dupa cum stiti, eu lucrez in Deloitte Romania, in departamentul de consultanta pentru sectorul public.

Reebok Warehouse Visit
|
Tuesday morning, during the Supply Chain Management Class we visited Reebok's warehouse, in order to see a real life example and to analyze its operations. We will have to write an assignment of the efficiency of Reebok's processes.
It was great to actually see how a warehouse functions, after all the articles on stock picking and order processes. Below you can only see the harbor pix that I

Management Consulting Awards 2008
|

Blog Action Day 2008
|
Today I signed up for Blog Action Day 2008. It's an initiative of bloggers, trying to raise awareness about world issues, such as poverty. It aims to unite bloggers worldwide to trigger discussions. Imagine thousands of people writing their views on the same issue, on the same day! It could be called a movement, a lens through which the problems can be observed... via different perspectives.

Europe’s Financial Crisis - The Basics
|
Few were imagining last week how Europe’s finances would look like in just a couple of days. As a matter of fact, last Tuesday I was disagreeing with Michael Berendt’s entry on Blogactiv, while claiming that Eurozone (and Europe in general) will have to face the storm really soon. And so they did. Mr. Berendt himself acknowledged his hasty judgment! To (over)simplify things, the subprime crisis sent American banks into bankruptcy, which consequently did the same with European ones. Germany gave out state guarantees for all private savings accounts, and other European countries followed suit. Moreover, Ireland offered similar guarantees for corporate actors; simply put, the state nationalized banks and other financial institutions. Surreal in 21st century Europe, isn’t it? (more…)
